RV Recipe: Try This Tasty, Easy Comfort Food!

This family-favorite camping recipe for Cheesy Tot Casserole is a must-have on your next trip in your new or used RV! It’s easy and delicious to make, and is space efficient, too! Grab the recipe below and try it out!

Cheesy Tot Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 can Golden Mushroom soup
  • 1 can French Onion soup
  • 16 oz frozen tater tots
  • Seasoning salt, to taste
  • 16 oz shredded cheddar cheese

You’ll also need:

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Can opener
  • 9×13 baking dish

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine the ground beef and diced onion in the skillet. Brown the beef over medium heat, crumbling as you go, and cooking until the onions are translucent and tender, and beef is thoroughly browned. Drain and discard the grease.
  • Add both cans of soup to the meat and onion mixture and mix thoroughly. Then, spread this mixture on the bottom of a 9×13 casserole dish.
  • Top the meat mixture with the frozen tater tots across the top, spreading them evenly across the top, and sprinkling lightly with seasoned salt.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  • Turn off the oven heat. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the tots and return the casserole pan to the oven for just 5 minutes to let the cheese melt under the remaining heat.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving to thicken up.

One recipe comes together so quickly once the meat is browned – and using a disposable aluminum dish decreases the cleanup, too. It doesn’t get easier than this!
